Founded in the year 1969, The English Language Teachers’ Association of India (ELTAI), an associate of IATEFL (UK), is one of the largest networks of teachers of English in India.
The association works for the cause of bringing about revolutionary change and spreading awareness among the teachers and learners of English in Indian context. Its international association and MOU’s with the likes of British Council, RELO, NELTA and such other prominent organizations in the field of education provide its members with wide range of global exposure and a platform to share enriching experiences. The association has 60 chapters all across the country with about 5000+ active members.
The association organizes international conferences every year. Delegates from all over the country as well as the world conduct teaching learning activities round the year in form of workshops, seminars, webinars, national conferences, quiz competitions for students and several other events. The conference to be held from 8 – 10 July, 2021, at GLA University, Mathura, on the theme “ELT in India: New Needs, New Demands, New Trends” is the 15th international and 51st annual conference under the aegis of ELTAI. participate, present papers and conduct workshops.
The association brings out a print bi-monthly “The Journal of English Language Teaching” and it is given free to all the members of the Association. In addition, the association also publishes open access e-journals, Journal of Technology for ELT, Journal of Teaching and research in English literature and The ELT Practitioner.
